Myth Busters

I was frolicking around the internet last night as we tend to do, and I came across a surprisingly relevant article in Yahoo news. What drew me to the article was a delicious looking picture of a nice cup of green tea, it was titled: 5 Myths About Tea. Right up my alley.
I was pleased to learn some new things, things even I didn't have knowledge in. For example I knew that tea has a shelf life, for I have experienced this in my early years (funny tasting bag of pina colada loose leaf). But I wasn't aware that there was a rumour about how adding milk to your tea can destroy its health benefits (It doesn't). In the article, they even touch base on the topic of my last blog entry about herbal tea. In this particular article they say herbal tea is not technically a tea but a 'tisane'. I do agree with this statement, however I won't be the one going around correcting whoever calls it a tea, it's really not a big issue for me; call it what you will.
There are more busted myths, how peppermint tea is good for stomach aches for example and how tea is best when nothing is added to it. If you wish to learn more it's a really interesting article and I suggest you give it a look.

P.S. Like the new cover photo? I took it and edited it myself.

  1. Sarah! Read your new posts. Keep it up. I think the cover photo is very cool. I assume that you still have a great deal to talk about. I like the myth busters and the informative post about the core four. I have no idea why they only have those categories. I noticed some errors - typos on my comment last time. Sorry about that as I am typing pretty quickly as I try and get through the class.

I just bought my friend a Teavana tea brewer She loved it. :) M. Morton

  2. Sarah!! I love your blog and I find it very informative! I really like how all the colours of your theme go so well the pictures you post too; everything goes well together to create a peaceful kind of atmosphere and a welcoming blog! Guess what!? My mom is going to get me a mug like yours with the little compartment at the top so I can finally drink loose teas!! :D We might go to her favourite coffe shop "Bridgehead", she says they have really good quality organic and fairly traded teas there! So I remember you said that Teopia closed and was being replaced by Teavana, but has it opened yet!? :O If so, I'd like to check it out! Anyways, keep up the awesome blog!

    Your tea-loving friend,
    Liam :D

    1. Thanks Liam! Wow that's cool, except your mug will be slghtly different han mine because I have yet to see one in this style since Teaopia closed. And yes Teavanna has been opened for a few months now. Its in the same place as the old Teaopia. Its basically the same store with new teas and equipment. You should definitely check it out!.
